Zaheer has been practicing law since 1998.  Zaheer is particularly adept at resolving disputes, including  wrongful dismissal claims and interpersonal conflict in the workplace.

Zaheer has particular experience in advising and representing employers in both the public and private sector and has developed expertise in the following areas:

  •       Harassment investigations
  •       Wrongful dismissal litigation
  •       Restrictive covenant litigation
  •       Workplace training
  •       HR management advisory services
  •       Mediations under the Police Services Act

Zaheer is also a highly sought-out speaker and has previously appeared as a guest on CBC radio and Radio Canada to speak about gender discrimination in the restaurant industry and toxic work environments.   He has been quoted by the Canadian Safety Reporter in a story related to workplace harassment and was a presenter in HRPA’s Quarterly Employment Law Update where he provided updates in a series of four webcasts from 2013 – 2014 regarding Employment human rights.

The early part of Zaheer’s career was devoted to child protection prosecutions where he assumed the task of training social workers across the province on how to conduct investigations in a non-oppressive manner.  Through this work, Zaheer became familiar with investigation techniques and now applies these strategies and techniques in conducting workplace investigations.  This prior experience also adds to Zaheer’s expertise in working with first responders, including fire and police.

Zaheer is a former varsity squash player with wonky knees who captains a local squash team and trains 2 of his 3 children in playing competitive squash.  Zaheer is also an ardent  Maple Leafs fan who believes they are on the verge of winning a Stanley Cup –  despite the absence of any supporting evidence.
