Melissa Mustafa maintains a general employment and labour practice, acting for employers and employees.

Her practice includes:

Melissa has experience representing clients in complex workplace disputes at all levels of court, including the Court of Appeal for Ontario, where she successfully acted in an appeal involving an anti-SLAPP motion arising from her client’s comments to the media about anti-Black racism in the workplace.

In addition to her litigation practice, Melissa is a trusted workplace investigator, regularly retained to conduct investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination, and workplace misconduct. She also delivers practical training on respect in the workplace, harassment, discrimination, and bullying.

Melissa is a frequent speaker on labour and employment law topics and has presented for organizations including Lancaster House, Infonex, and the Human Resources Professionals Association.

Originally from Australia, Melissa relocated to Canada in 2014 after completing her law degree and articling at a full-service firm in Sydney’s Central Business District. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2017.

Melissa is committed to mentorship and education. She is a long-standing mentor with the Toronto Metropolitan University's Law Practice Program, serves as a mooting judge with the University of Toronto Mississauga, and tutors candidates preparing for the bar exam.
